UW-RF Sets Sept. 11th Remembrance Activities
UW-River Falls will offer a range of activities to the campus and community to commemorate September 11th. Here is a list of events that will be occurring that day and the following week:
Memorial service: 7:45 a.m. North Hall west lawn. Remarks by Chancellor Ann Lydecker and others, followed by a flag-raising and music.
"Remembering September 11th." Presentations and an open discussion on the events of September 11th. Moderated by Speech Commications Associate Professor and Women's Studies Coordinator Barbara Werner. Noon-1 p.m. International Room, Hagestad Student Center.
Reflection Room. Falcon Room, Hagestad Student Center. Open from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. for campus and community members who are seeking a quiet location to reflect on the attack.
Remembrance Board. Falcon's Nest, Hagestad Student Center. A memories wall will be set up from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. for those who wish to post their thoughts. The comments will be preserved in the University Archives.
On Sept. 17 the University will host a faculty panel discussion, "Sept. 11th: What Have We Learned?" It is set for Noon in the Blanche Davis Theatre of the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building.
