SCVST Production "Always...Patsy Cline" Opens July 14
One of the best-loved female country singers of all time will "return" to the stage again as the St. Croix Valley Summer Theatre presents "Always...Patsy Cline," by Ted Swindley.
This touching musical is July 14-18 and July 21-24 at Davis Theatre in the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building, UW-River Falls. Show times are 7:30 p.m. except Sunday, July 18 with the performance at 2 p.m.
"Always...Patsy Cline" is a musical comedy about Cline and her close friend Louise Seger. This real-life story, which has been an enormous hit wherever it has played, gives audiences an intimate look at the woman behind the legend--an insider's story as only a true friend could tell it.
The show features more than 20 of Patsy's songs including her hits "I Fall to Pieces," "Back in Baby's Arms," "She's Got You," and "Crazy."
Director Ken Hill is back by popular demand after his acclaimed work on "The Miracle Worker" to direct "Always... Patsy Cline." Hill is a professor of theater at Ripon (Wis.) College.
Rita Medina, new this year to SCVST, will be starring as Patsy Cline. Rita is a Ripon College graduate from Burbank, Ill. Anne Negri, returning for her second season with SCVST, will be portraying Patsy's friend Louise Seger.
