UW-RF Fall Enrollment Remains Open
Fall enrollment remains open at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
Admissions Director Alan Tuchtenhagen said his department would particularly be interested in processing admissions applications from returning, older students and high school graduates from western Wisconsin.
"There are some individuals who are deciding to start back to college after having worked for a few years. Some of them have attended college in the past. Others are interested in attending for the first time," Tuchtenhagen said.
As to recent high school graduates, he noted, "UW River Falls has a strong commitment to assist in the higher education of families of West-Central Wisconsin. We have a limited amount of room for additional new students for fall term. However, to the extent possible, we want to be sure that individuals from this region have an opportunity here."
While there is room available for new students, Tuchtenhagen noted they must meet admissions standards by showing they are academically prepared for college. Students with questions about their previous academic work and UW-RF admission standards should contact the admissions office at 715/425-3500.
Residence hall space is still available for students, as is financial aid for those who qualify.
Tuchtenhagen noted that UW River Falls has some unique programs that are not available at many other universities, such as biotechnology, geographic information systems, environmental science, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, horticulture, as well as food science and technology.
UW-RF's largest enrollments continue to be in such popular programs as business, computer science, education, marketing communications, and art. -30-
