UW-RF Horse Team Places Nationally

UW-River Falls teams and individuals placed well at The 2002 Intercollegiate National Horse Show held May 3-5, at Cazenovia College in New York.
UW-RF placed fifth in the American Quarter Horse Association Team Competition Cup. The team included Trisha Keller, a sophomore from Palmyra majoring in animal science; Heather Reichert, a freshman from Marshfield majoring in animal science; Andrea Nelson, a freshman from Galesville majoring in biology; Amanda Arndt, a freshman from Prescott majoring in animal science with an equine emphasis; and Martine Bredl, a sophomore from Stratford majoring in dairy science.
Four individuals placed in individual categories. Arndt took second in the AQHA Intermediate Western Horsemanship division. Keller took third place in AQHA Reining. Reichert placed seventh in Individual Advanced Western Horsemanship. Hunt took sixth place in the Cacchione Cup and ninth in Open Individual Over Fences.
Teams and individuals qualified for the national competition by placing at the Zone 6 Championships held in April at UW-River Falls. Complete results of the events can be found at www.ihsa.com.
