UW-RF Student, Sykora, Receives MNLA Scholarship
UW-River Falls student Josh Sykora recently received a scholarship sponsored by the Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association. Sykora is a junior from Bloomer, Wis., who is majoring in horticulture with a landscape design option. The scholarship he received was co-sponsored Linderšs Greenhouse and Garden Center of St. Paul, a longtime MNLA member.
The MNLA scholarship program recognizes superior students enrolled in horticultural, nursery or landscape studies programs at several area colleges and universities. To be eligible for a MNLA scholarship, applicants must possess a satisfactory grade average, present letters of recommendation from instructors and employers, and submit an essay stating their career goals and objectives. The scholarships are designed by MNLA and its member companies to help grow future leaders in the nursery and landscape industry.
The Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association is the statešs largest green industry trade association with more than 1,300 member businesses including nurseries, garden centers, landscape designers and contractors, irrigation contractors, tree care specialists, commercial flower growers, and lawn and landscape management professionals.
