The UWRF Physics department is proud to be one of only 2
undergraduate programs in the IceCube collaboration. IceCube itself is
scheduled to be completed during the austral summer of 2011.
Lots of exciting things are
happening with IceCube at UW-River Falls this
year!

The Oden returned to Sweden. Dr. Madsen, Drew, Kyle, and Samantha are
in Washington discussing undergraduate research with Congress members at
the Council on
Undergraduate Research Posters on the Hill . Check out Kyle's blog on this

Kyle made it safely back to the States. The Oden adventures have
concluded, but not before producing over 300 Gbytes of data! Preliminary
studies show the data to be sound. Stay tuned as preparations are made
for the summer activities.

Another leg of the journey has completed. Samantha is back in the
States with the data logs. Kyle has made it to New Zealand and will
depart for McMurdo station soon. He is also updating his blog here.

Drew has safetly departed the Oden and will be returning to the

The Oden successfully departed Helsingborg and is on its way to
Gothenburg for fueling. Be sure to wish Drew luck at battling

Approval of the Oden Cruise, scheduled to depart November 20th.
- Tank monitoring during the cruise is being conducted by Drew
Anderson and Kyle Jero (UWRF) and Samantha Jakel (UW-Rock County)
- Freezing of tank is almost complete!
