Alessio Tamburro
I am originally from Italy but my life became involved internationally as soon as I graduated. My honor’s thesis discussion was about one of the current astroparticle physics experiments, ANTARES. I then moved to Madison to acquire more experience in developing scientific software and had the opportunity to work with IceCube for one summer. After that I went to Europe to obtain my PhD in Physics working as a member of the Pierre Auger Collaboration at the Research Center in Karlsruhe (Germany).
Soon after, I joined the IceCube/IceTop Collaboration in River Falls. Here I have the possibility to do research as well as add some teaching experience to my academic career. I love teaching and look forward to improving my performance as a teacher. My current research deals with simulation and reconstruction of ultra-high energy cosmic-ray showers. People in the IceTop Collaboration are excited with my work which encourages me to strive for the best.
In the future I would like to apply for a position that allows me to enhance and improve my teaching qualities while at the same time that allows me the opportunity to help students with their own research projects. It is my intention to share the knowledge and experience that I have acquired with others who have a passion for research.
