Here is a picture of Jon Eisch working with the new data acquisition card. The cards will be used as part of a muon tagger system which will identify incoming muons before they enter IceTop tanks. This will make it possible to characterize the tanks individually for single muon events.

Here is Michael Tate doing some work cutting fabric for sun shades that are to go over the IceTop tanks. The shades will keep direct sunlight off of the tanks allowing them to freeze evenly. On the right he is shown working on data analysis from temperature sensors in tanks that are already freezing at the South Pole.

Here is Luke Chambers working on cutting electrical conduit pipes for the frames of the sun shades, as well as threaded rods for digital optical module holders in the IceTop tanks. Also pictured is the trusty band saw that served him so well in this effort. Some of the finished pipes are shown at the bottom.
