Become a FAN!
The Falcon Action Network that has been
established to help the University of Wisconsin-
River Falls advance its Wisconsin legislative
agenda is showing results. Supported by the
Office of Public Affairs and the UWRF Alumni
Association, FAN is the first advocacy network
put into place at a UW System comprehensive
university. FAN members have visited legislators,
made phone calls, written letters and sent
emails. They've helped UWRF:
- receive $1.1 million in planning money for
a new Health and Human Performance
facility and keep the building on track for
construction in the following biennium;
- oppose a proposed five percent cut
($2.8 million) to its operational budget;
- get new funding for a First-Year
Experience to improve new student
retention as part of the UW System's
“Growth Agenda” to create more
graduates.
Alumni, friends, faculty and staff are invited to
join. For more information or to join FAN, visit
