Collection
Summary: The River Falls State Teachers College
Foundation was incorporated in March 1948. A non-profit organization,
the Foundation was formed for the purpose of the solicitation of gifts
of money or property to the College to be used for the benefit of the
school, basically in the form of scholarships to assist deserving students
and a physical plant development fund. Foundation contributions to the
school, aside from scholarships, include purchasing furnishings for
Hagestad Student Center (1959), floating a loan for the expansion of
the college farm, the purchase of the bronze Falcon adorning the Karges
Physical Education building, and the purchase of the Kleinpell Carillon
currently located in North Hall.
In March 1952,
the Foundation launched a new alumni publication, Falcon Features, still
in publication.
Included in
this series are records of contributions, lists of scholarship recipients,
financial records, minutes of the Foundation Board of Directors, business
correspondence, constitution and bylaws, articles of incorporation of
the Foundation, and issues of Falcon Features.
See UWRF Series 141 (One of Five-Thousand
Campaign) for related materials.
